Pfc. Garrett Bitts and Cpl. Jose Resto help members of Brownie Troop 26432 from DeKalb County stack boxes of Girl Scout cookies at the National Guard Armory on Carroll Street on Monday. The troop donated 400 boxes of cookies to Operation Sandbox to send to soldiers deployed overseas. Pictured are Brianna Harding, 8, Erin Gimmesey, 7 and Emma Hardman, 8. This is the second year the troop has sold extra cookies to donate. Operation Sandbox recently moved headquarters from Park Place Baptist Church in Snellville to the Armory for additional space. The organization has reached more than 60,000 troops since it was formed by Virginia Pearson and her daughter Julie in 2004. For more information, visit www.operationsandboxga.com or e-mail Pearson at email@example.com. Operation Sandbox also now has a new address for monetary donations: P.O. Box 1003, Oxford, GA 30054.
