4 arrested in cocaine drug bust

CONYERS - A Rockdale County man suspected of supplying cocaine to customers at two local night spots has been arrested.

According to a statement released Friday by Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Matt Wolfe, investigators with the Rockdale County Vice and Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Rockdale County SWAT Team, arrested Jason Trammell, 30, Wednesday at his home at 3160 Fern Ridge Drive.

A search warrant was obtained after undercover agents had purchased cocaine from Trammell at the Fern Ridge Drive address, investigators said.

The Narcotics and Vice Unit confiscated 67 grams of marijuana and 53 grams of powder cocaine from the residence.

"Most of the drugs were found in a safe in the bedroom closet in a room that Jason Trammell occupies," Wolfe said in the report.

Trammell also had $1,900 in cash in his pocket at the time of the arrest, Wolfe said.

Trammell was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and three counts of sale of cocaine.

Julie Rummel, Wyatt Campbell and Alvin Harper Jr. were also arrested during the incident. Rummel and Trammell were taken into custody as they backed from the driveway on their way take a trip to Florida, Wolfe said.

Rummel, 22, of 3381 Bonds Lake Road in Conyers, was charged with possession of a Schedule 4 substance (Valium).

Investigators found Campbell, 27, of 3420 Colony Drive in Covington, sitting in the living room of the Fern Ridge Drive home with drugs in plain view. He was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Harper, 29, of 60 Avery Drive, also in Covington, was arrested as he pulled his car into the driveway. Investigators found cocaine, a marijuana pipe and a gun in his vehicle, Wolfe reported. Harper was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug-related objects and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to jail officials, Harper has been released on bond. Trammell, Rummel and Campbell remained in the Rockdale County Jail on Saturday.
