COVINGTON - A woman who left her child at New Journey Learning Center at the Heritage Park apartment complex has made allegations of child cruelty, according to the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
The woman, who lives on Magnolia Heights Circle, told deputies that her 2-year-old son was spanked for wetting his pants while in the care of workers at the center. "The mother alleged there were visible marks on his buttocks," said Investigator Sharron Stewart. The child also verbally confirmed that he had been spanked for wetting his pants, according to Stewart. The child did not require medical attention for his injuries. No arrests have been made and the investigation into the incident is on-going.More like this story
