COVINGTON - Newton County Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for two black men who they say held a gun to the head of the owner of Susie's Best Wings on Salem Road and took her money.
According to an incident report completed by Investigator Mickey Kitchens, the owner of the restaurant at 3257 Salem Road said she was preparing to close about 9:35 p.m. Monday and had left the front door open because she was expecting a customer to pick up a takeout order.
The woman said the two men carrying handguns entered the store and forced their way behind the counter. One of them pointed his pistol at her head and shouted, "Where's the money?"
The woman told investigators he opened the cash register and when he didn't find any money there, he continued to yell at her. She then pulled a bag out containing approximately $500 from under the counter and handed it to him, saying, "Here, take it," according to the incident report.
In the meantime, the second man went into the back of the restaurant where he took a wallet and cell phone from an employee, the report stated.
The only description given was that the two men were black, wearing all black clothing, with one of the men wearing blue rubber gloves. The woman said she couldn't give a better description because everything happened so fast.
Both of the men fled on foot out the front door of the restaurant.
