"In terms of competition, we got what we wanted today. We're to a point now, as we get closer to the region tournament, we scheduled these teams to get us ready," Heritage boys coach Chuck Landy said. "From that aspect, we're getting what we needed, which is our guys are being challenged. We're at a point now where we've got to start beating these better teams because that's what we're going to see down the line. These teams will get us ready to play. Hopefully, we'll see the benefit when we get to the region tournament in two weeks."

In the girls match, the Lady Patriots had a tough day against the No. 6-ranked Lady Broncos.

"It was great competition for us today. We're just trying to tune up for the region tournament coming up after spring break," Heritage girls coach Brian Smith said. "We looked at today like, as if you made to the state finals, this is the type of competition you'd see. We've got to experience that, so we can learn from that. Hopefully, it will pay off down the road for us."
