To the editor:
The National Day of Prayer is coming up on May 1. Thousands of prayers will be made for our nation and all its leaders, for our troops at home and abroad and for all the problems we face as a nation. In 1990, President Ronald Reagan said, "The time has come to turn to God and reassert our trust in Him for the healing of America. ... Our country is in need of and ready for a spiritual renewal."
My prayer for America is: "O Lord, thank You for this great nation You have allowed us to live in. Forgive us for the arrogance and sin of not recognizing this greatness came from You and is because of Your blessings. May prayer be put back in schools, partial birth abortion be abolished, Roe vs. Wade be overturned, same sex marriage not be allowed and the Ten Commandments be hung in every courthouse in America, that we may continue to be blessed by You. And please, Lord, protect our troops and bring them home safe. May Your name be honored and exalted in Rockdale County, in Georgia and throughout America. In the name of Jesus we offer our prayer, Amen."
