Robert D. Cobb

Army Pfc. Robert D. Cobb has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Cobb is the son of Alice Cobb of Conyers. He is a 2007 graduate of Newton High School, Covington.

Bryan N. Hood

Army National Guard Pvt. Bryan N. Hood has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Hood earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Dennis Hood of Monroe and grandson of Freda McKinley of Leesburg, Fla. The private is a 1999 high school graduate of Athens Technical College.

Kwomi T. Johnson

Army Reserve Pvt. Kwomi T. Johnson has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky.

During the nine-week training period, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.

Johnson's mom is Serena Telleria of Conyers. Johnson's aunt is Janine Allen of Kenner, La. Johnson is a student at Salem High School in Conyers.

Reginald I. King

King is the son of Marian Bradley of Conyers and is a 2007 graduate of Heritage High School, Conyers.

Jessica L. Stone

Army Pvt. Jessica L. Stone has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Stone is the daughter of Cliff Stone and granddaughter of Mary Highsmith, both of Monroe. Stone is a 2007 graduate of the Faith Academy, Loganville.

Jacob Avery

Army Reserve Pfc. Jacob Avery has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky.

During the nine-week training period, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.

Avery is the son of Rebecca Dunn of Stockbridge.
