COVINGTON - It's been a tough start for the Oxford Eagles in the 2007-08 basketball campaign.
Oxford (1-6) lost five straight games to begin the season, including to Southeastern Bible College (99-66), Gordon (80-56), Southern Wesleyan JV (85-67), Davidson Community College (106-59) and Abraham Baldwin (88-40).
The Eagles won their first game of the season at Anderson University JV, winning 81-59 on Nov. 16.
Four players scored in double figures in that game with Chad Hixon leading with 26 points. Ty Trumbo scored a career-high 20 with Makeen Sabree scoring 14 and Arnold Kim had 13.
Hixon is fifth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III rankings with 27.75 points per game. Hixon is ranked seventh in rebounds with an average of 11.5 per game.
The Eagles followed the Anderson game with 91-82 loss to Summer Hill Prep on Sunday.
The Eagles get back into action at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Georgia Perimeter. Their next home contest is at 8 p.m. Thursday against Fort McPherson.
