The Conyers Garden Club presented the Landscape Design Award to Jim and Annette Alvin of 2714 Harvest Drive. Their lawn is green, and boxwoods surround the house. The front entrance has beds of lirope and beautiful purple heart and purple mums in containers. Pink geraniums in pots offset the color purple, and the door is adorned with a horn-of-plenty containing a flower arrangement. They have numerous plants in the landscape and have only lost a few due to lack of rain. Everything is well mulched, and the plants well established. Around the curving driveway Miss Huff lantanas, various daylilies, azaleas, linton rose, dogwoods, loropetalum, confederate rose and maples abound. A small herb garden at the side of the home contains rosemary, Texas tarragon, thyme, marjoram and a pot of mint. Coral impatiens add color at the carport. The back yard contains a small fish pond, a bank of red Knock-Out roses, white statuary, butterfly bush, cannas, sedum, Japanese maple and camellias. Near the house are banana trees, antique roses, hosta and sweet william. The yard presents quite a lovely picture.
