Santa Claus arrived in Covington around 5 p.m. Thursday and there was a large contingent of excited youngsters to greet him as a horse-drawn carriage took him around the Square twice before depositing him at his home for the next few weeks, Ramsey's Furniture Annex. Santa's arrival, courtesy of Back When Carriage Rides of Winder, kicked off a night of festivities marked by the lighting of the Newton County Historic Courthouse. Here, 7-year-old Olivia Andrews tells Santa about her missing tooth and other news that's taken place since they last met. She probably dropped a few hints about what she wants under the tree as well.More like this story
