COVINGTON - The Covington Rotary Club is accepting applications for The Empty Stocking Fund this week.
Each year, Rotarians collect unwrapped toys to deliver to underprivileged children during the holiday season. Applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Salvation Army Community Room at 5193 Washington St. through this Friday. To qualify, applicants should bring a driver's license or other proof of identification, along with a Social Security card for each child in the household. Rotarians will be collecting unwrapped toys through Dec. 15. Boxes will be located at various businesses throughout the community. A box will be located on the Square in downtown Covington during this Thursday's Lighting of the Courthouse, beginning at 5 p.m. with the arrival of Santa. The Rotary Club will also accept cash donations to benefit the Empty Stocking Fund. For more information, call 770-385-2077.
