Kennesaw State's Caitlin Dingle is a first-team selection on the Atlanta Sun Conference's all-conference women's soccer team.
The former Rockdale standout finished third in the A-Sun with 15 goals, five of which were game-winners. Dingle, who is Rockdale County's all-time leading goal-scorer (boys and girls with 207), also finished the season with five assists. Dingle was named the A-Sun's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week three times. The Owls had a total of nine representatives receive league honors, and they received all seven all-conference selections, which is more than any other school in the A-Sun. KSU finished first in the A-Sun in the regular season and is playing in the conference tournament, which is being held at the KSU Soccer Complex this weekend. BASKETBALL Dobbs tosses in 20 points for Truett-McConnell Former Heritage standout Jaquas Dobbs is off to a fast start at Truett-McConnell. The 6-foot-7 sophomore led the team by scoring 20 points and collecting six rebounds in the Bears' victory over Ft. McPherson All-Army. SOCCER Delamar gets NJCAA honors Nicole Delamar, who played girls soccer at Rockdale, has been named National Junior College Athletic Association Region XVII all-region women's soccer team. Delamar, a freshman midfielder, played in 15 games, tallying three goals and six assists for the Georgia Perimeter Jaguars. Norman named to SSAC all-academic team Former Eastside soccer player Sam Norman was named to the Southern States Athletic Conference all-academic team. During the season, Norman, a senior defender, scored four goals, including a game-winner against Reinhardt, and collected two assists. The former Eagle was named the Southern States Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 17. During his career at Shorter College, Norman notched 10 goals and played in 49 games.
