Newton County Board of Elections Director Donna Morrison, left, and Poll Manager Shirley Cordell set up electronic voting machines at Covington City Hall Monday afternoon in preparation for today's General Municipal Election. The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Citizens of Covington vote at City Hall, located at 2194 Emory St. Election results will be posted at the Board of Elections, located in the new Newton County Administration Building, at 1113 Usher St., Suite 103. In Oxford, voters will cast their ballots at the Oxford Community Center at 810 Whatcoat St., while Porterdale residents will vote at the Porterdale Fire Department at 2 Main St.More like this story
