Man allegedly exposes himself at dry cleaners

COVINGTON - The Covington Police Department is on the lookout for a man who allegedly exposed himself at the drive-through window of a local dry cleaning shop.

Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to Elegance Dry Cleaning off U.S. Highway 278 in the Covington Crossing shopping center after receiving a call about an incident of indecent exposure at the business, Officer David Stewart said in an incident report.

The victim told police she was folding clothes at the counter when she heard a male voice yell something, at which point she looked up and saw a slender, white man standing in front of the drive-through window.

The suspect, who was described as being middle-aged with black hair and a mustache wearing a baseball hat, was reportedly standing naked and performing a lewd act, Stewart said.

He then allegedly asked the victim a sexually explicit question and the victim immediately grabbed the phone and called 911. When she looked again, however, the suspect had fled the scene, according to the CPD report.

Since she didn't hear a vehicle, the victim said she believed the man had left on foot in the direction of the wooded area at the rear of the business.

Police searched the area and found evidence that suggested someone may be living in the woods, but did not locate the suspect.

Stewart said officers would increase patrols in the area in an attempt to locate the suspect.
