ATLANTA - A judge is seeking to streamline testimony in the murder trial of the man accused of killing four people in a shooting spree that began inside a courtroom.
Superior Court Judge Hilton Fuller said in an order Monday that the prosecution witness list, believed to number roughly 400, is 'unusually long' and could include people who would offer redundant testimony or may not testify at all. Fuller ordered the state to file under seal by Dec. 20 a complete list of its witnesses and a summary of his or her expected testimony. Witnesses not on the list would only be allowed to testify at Brian Nichols' trial in limited circumstances, Fuller said. It was not clear from the ruling if the judge plans to cut some prosecution witness names from the list if he deems their testimony redundant.More like this story
